Pin ItToday’s post comes to you courtesy of Aldo Baker and infographicworld.com. This impressive infographic provides a cool pictorial context for what New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin is accomplishing.
Aldo sent this to me 6 days ago — and I should have posted it right away — but I’ve been extremely busy helping a good friend get his new business going which has forced me to put my own projects, including this site and the Basketballogy book, on hold for a bit. Hopefully it won’t be much longer though.
I got to watch Jeremy Lin play live with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League (NBADL). It is funny that I remember him so well, although I’m sure his being Asian helps. But I remember his play too. I remember thinking the Bighorns must be using Lin as a 3 point specialist, but his minutes seemed to be limited because he appeared to be having a hard time matching up defensively against Andre Ingram, Kevin Kruger and Orien Greene of the Utah Flash. But I also remember the respect he seemed to have from his teammates, and that is what stayed with me the most. I should look through my old photos and see if I have any photos or video of Lin in the d-League.
Interestingly, the Reno Bighorns will be giving out 1,500 Jeremy Lin jerseys at their game on March 27, 2012. I think that is WAAAY cool; in fact I’d rather have a Reno Bighorns Jeremy Lin jersey than a New York Knicks Jeremy Lin Jersey.
At any rate, this is an amazing graphic and I hope you will take the time to study through it. It is a fast and fun way to get a lot of information on a topic that is quite hot in the basketball world right now.
If you enjoy it as much as I did, please leave a comment and I’ll try to get more things like this posted here.
